I fell into passion for pyrography and here is the result

My inspirations come from any number of areas. I find it all around and try to match it up with the wood I have in stock. Each creation is sanded, patterned, burned, conditioned, usually stained or painted, lacquered, sanded again, and lacquered until I'm pleased with the result. I almost always line my boxes for a special touch.
I consider myself an artisan who strives for that ever elusive state of perfection. However, crafting is humbling and wood working reminds me that nature is greater than I.
I entered the world of pyrography in 2012. I've always been fascinated by it, but did not purchase my first burner until November of 2012. Now, pyrography is my meditation. To date, I have completed over 300 pieces. Most of my first attempts at wood burning were gifts in the form of boxes, but I have also created plaques personalized for businesses and with phrases for individuals, and I've branched out to include leather items, as well.

It was my family and friends (and some complete strangers) who encouraged me to try my hand at selling - not only here on Etsy, but also locally. Most of my works are custom orders for clients that can be found on Instagram (knottybox), but I'm currently working to build my online inventory.

On top of this "burning passion," I also work a part-time office job and take care of my family who support me through my (sometimes maddening) creative processes. And let's face it, no matter where my head might be, they keep me grounded.

I hope that you enjoy my creations as much as I enjoy making them.
Thank you for your consideration!
